“Clown Between Space and Human”, a site-specific & interactive project that brings together clowning, physical theatre, and research on how we relate to our environment. The project cultivates awareness on human–environment relations in an accessible and absurd way, deepening our connection with inanimate structures & objects, under the guidance of clowns.

Clowns invite us to rediscover connections between people, nature, city; to give time to details we often overlook. They encourage exploring our surroundings with playfulness and vulnerability. A street, square; desire paths or unusual traces– through the city’s structures, rhythms, ordinariness, peculiarities; the project desires a playful laboratory in public space where the audience may also become participants ( even a co-creators). It creates an experience that can shift perceptions, as clowns have great potential for it. A clown is a companion who can guide us toward finding meaning & poetry in unexpected places.

Clown Between Human & Spaces

The project keeps searching for creating different formats of site-specific clowns. Until now, three different performances created for specific sites.

The performance has been created directly for a tiny street (the Růžová Ulice / Pink Street) in Blansko.

The core idea was “how do we get from here to there?”. There are many ways to open heart to a path or a street. Throughout the day, two clowns offered a series of diverse ways to pass a street according to the audience and their responses.
